How Making a Positive Difference in Society Can Grow a Business and a Big Brand Like McDonald’s

Bob Langert, former Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, McDonald’s, will discuss the journey of McDonald’s and how a sustainable Big Mac can connect with consumers.  Mr. Langert will discuss the challenges, opportunities, and risks inherent in corporate social responsibility and sustainability, as well as offer insight into navigating the waters of non-governmental organization (NGO) activists to make progress with one of the most visible brands in the world.

Mr. Langert has led McDonald’s global sustainability efforts, working with McDonald’s system to grow our business by making a positive difference in society. In his position as Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, he has collaborated with internal leadership to integrate sustainability in day-to-day operations and decision-making, including sustainability reporting and working with a variety of external stakeholders. As of March 1, 2015, he is now a Contributing Editor & Senior Advisor at GreenBiz and is the President at MainstreamSustainability, LLC.
