The Office of Sustainability was formed in Fall 2009, stemming from the first cycle of Strategic Initiatives proposed by President Mary Lyons to make our campus more green and eco-friendly. The purpose is to promote sustainable initiatives throughout USD’s campus, work to create various programming and outreach, and educate not only USD but the local community as well regarding various sustainability issues. Our goal is to seek out retrofits and initiatives to implement that will help USD become one of the most sustainable campuses in the country.
One way to educate the USD community about sustainability issues and current projects is through the Sustainability Newsletter. Please take some time to view the monthly newsletter for tips, fun stories, and highlights of students and staff who are making a difference on campus and in the community. The newsletters can be found under the “Sustainability At USD” tab. Click here to be directed to the newsletters.
