Campus Initiatives

Through various campus initiatives, the Office of Sustainability has saved 6 million kWh of energy and 15 million gallons of water in 2010-2011. We have also diverted more than 165,000 pounds of e-waste from landfills and have also created a single-stream recycle program, encouraging all members of the USD community to recycle or compost. The Office of Sustainability has a dorm compost program and community garden available for students to grow their favorite produce. It is important to get the students engaged to work on the sustainability projects they are interested in to make USD a more eco-friendly community.
