2nd Annual Green Gathering
The Office of Sustainability hosted its 2nd Annual Green Gathering in O’Toole’s on Tuesday December 10, 2013. The purpose of these gatherings is to create a space for the USD community to gather and discuss sustainability topics on campus, in our community, and in our world.
Michael Catanzaro, Director of Sustainability, gave a short presentation on USD’s sustainability accomplishments in 2013 and spoke about the upcoming sustainability goals. The main topics were around Climate, E-Waste, Zero Waste, and Transportation as well as the upcoming Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS) submission and the university’s Climate Action Plan.
Space and time were also available for participants to voice their concerns, ideas, suggestions, and vision for sustainability at USD. The Office of Sustainability plans to host annual Green Gatherings as a way for the community to come together around sustainability topics and create a forum for feedback and collaboration.
