USD MBA veterans professional development network

2012

USD School of Business MBA students, Alex Wilhelm, Justin Farrar and Kevin Filer, represent the Navy, Marines and Army, respectively. Alex and Justin are veterans, and Kevin is an active duty Army officer serving as an ROTC instructor in San Diego.

These three students created the USD MBA Veterans Organization (USD MVO) to provide a network for professional development at USD for veterans and civilian students alike. They were motivated by the idea of supporting veterans in the MBA program seeking to transition to civilian business careers.

Since founding the MVO last year, they have had opportunities to be in contact with prospective students in support of MBA Admissions and to be engaged with informational panels hosted by Career Services. They have started a LinkedIn subgroup of the USD School of Business, host monthly happy hours, and are planning a USD MVO-sponsored visit to WD-40 for Nov. 28th.

I want to personally thank Alex, Justin and Kevin – and all of our students who are military service professionals – for their service to our country. I am grateful for the qualities of leadership, commitment and character that you contribute to our USD community.
