Stephan Aarstol (MBA,’99) and his San Diego-based company, Tower Paddle Boards, will be featured on ABC’s Shark Tank at 8/7c this Friday, March 16.

Stephan founded the stand up paddle boarding brand less than a year prior to the actual filming of the pitch on the Shark Tank last July. Watch to find out how this USD School of Business MBA alum fares!

Thanks for the mention Dean Pyke! Did you catch the show on Friday? I forgot about half of my pitch (I’ve got a notoriously bad memory), but I got back and track in the Q&A and ended up landing Mark Cuban as an investor ($150K for 30% plus he negotiated for a 1st right of refusal on investing on any business ventures I do in the future). The sequence of events added a dramatic element to the whole thing – kind of a Rocky-like knockdown and comeback ;) As I walked off the set I got high-fived from a couple of the show’s producers – it was the 1st time in the history of the show that not only did I get an investment in my company, but I basically got an investment-option in myself for any venture I do going forward. My USD MBA really paid off in the Q&A!

Hi Stephan, yes I did see the show and it was great! You definitely convinced Mark and the other guy (whose name I forget), and you held the cards at the end, which was fun to watch. Congratulations!! I loved the fact that Mark wants a right of first refusal on your new ventures. Very cool. Looking forward to great success! Best, Dave
