SOLES-Giving Collection Drive- Please bring new socks and non-perishable foods!

Please join SOLES for our 2018 SOLES-Giving Collection Drive. The drive will benefit two amazing organizations who are making a difference in the San Diego community: Monarch School and Homeless Outreach Student Transition (H.O.S.T.).

This collection drive will focus on two types of collections:

  1. New sock donations for Monarch School
  2. Non-perishable food donations for H.O.S.T.

We are adding a bit of competitive spirit to this collection drive by putting departments head to head to see who will donate the most items. Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to participate by bringing in new pairs of socks or non-perishable food to the SOLES Admissions office in MRH 149- make sure they take down your name and department- or drop them off in MRH 273 (in the Department of Leadership Studies lobby). At the end of the collection drive, the department who has donated the most items will be celebrated.

Then join us on Friday, November 16that 4:00 p.m. at location TBD for our culmination event featuring live music and refreshments as we announce the winning department with the highest amount of donated goods!

About the Organizations & Their Needs:
Help Monarch School collect socks for their community! New socks are a basic necessity that Monarch School often times run low on. Their students’ favorites include tall black or white crew socks for the males, ankle socks for the females, and colorful ankle socks for the elementary students.

Help H.O.S.T. keep their food pantries stocked on campus! Your non-perishable food donations go a long way for USD students who find themselves in a tough place. To find out more about H.O.S.T. please visit their website: https://www.facebook.com/USD-HOST-246113395724841/
