Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about MOOC’s, But Were Afraid to Ask

Wednesday, November 20th, 5:00 – 6:15 p.m. in MRH (SOLES) Warren Auditorium

Moderator:
Veronica Galvan, Assistant Professor, Psychological Sciences

Panelists:
Jason Lemon, Dean, Professional and Continuing Education
Del Dickson, Professor, Political Science & International Relations
Larry Hinman, Professor, Philosophy

This panel discussion is the first of a yearlong series of dialogues with CAS faculty to determine and address the key issues for the College with respect to online education. Panelists will provide information about the variety of online learning models, the online options our like-institutions are offering, and a few of the successful strategies used by other universities. And what about massive open online courses (MOOCs)–do MOOCs threaten liberal arts education or is there a way that MOOCs can enhance our core mission instead of detracting from it?

Ample time will be given for you to join in on this important dialogue and voice your ideas, opinions, and questions about online learning.
