CEE & ATS Friday Tech Talk: Using Parlor to Facilitate Student Engagement in Current Events

Friday February 22, 2013 from 2-3 p.m. in MRH (SOLES) 135

Are you interested in getting your students more engaged in what’s going on in the world? Fall of 2012 was a test semester for Parlor, an online social reading tool that facilitates group learning. Three sections of Business & Society with 105 students total read 11,000+ current event articles. 11,000!!! Parlor supplements the articles you and your students share with knowledge about the reading habits of the group as a whole, using social dynamics to push each reader to read more attentively and omnivorous. This Tech Talk will explain how and when to use Parlor and answer any questions about its applicability across the curriculum.
